Managers should not promote open debate of stereotypes as part of a strategy of maintaining diversity.Stereotypes might conceal their real identities or ways of performing tasks just for the sake of it and tempt managers to pardon them upon committing mistakes or even underperformance. If managers promote stereotypic behaviors, then many people will try to flow with the current as no concrete consequences might fall upon them.infact, managers should discourage the existence of stereotypes within their organizations. A directive by the manager to disregard any stereotypic actions or thoughts might lead to the emergence of serious personnel within the organization. There exists a variety of ways that managers can employ in the management of diversity other than promoting stereotypes. Managers could try to recruit persons from a different background, cultures, and traditions, through this, diversity within the workplace might be achieved. Also, managers should hire personnel with various skills and experiences. Building a culture of committed staff who are severe and ready to work under any condition they encounter, might help in the eradication of stereotypes. Managers will not have to promote an open discussion of stereotypes because there will be no need for the debate as no stereotypes will exist within the organization. What risks and potential advantages and disadvantages are inherent with such a strategy? The advantages of employing a strategy that disregards stereotypes within an organization are, managers will be able to secure dangerous employees who are objective driven. Also, the organization will be able to incur profits as all persons will work towards achieving the organization's goals with no excuses. The time that could have been used for the discussion will be saved and utilized in carrying out profitable activities of the organization thus increasing output. Another advantage of warding off stereotypes within an organization is that negativity towards a competent manager by the employees might reduce thus giving him or her ample time to exercise authority with full control. The disadvantages of incorporating a strategy that disregards stereotypes within an organization are that misjudgments can be made when managers employ the opinions of stereotypes leading to massive losses.
